Crisp Air & Cultural Treasures Across Korea

Recapping our 2025 Fall Discover Korea 10 Night Land Tour with Tour Managers Delbert and Gale Nakaoka! We traveled across South Korea from Incheon to Sokcho, Gyeongju, Busan, Jeju Island, and Seoul, experiencing a wonderful mix of history, culture, and local life. Highlights included the Korean Folk Village and Suwon’s UNESCO fortress, scenic views at Mt. Seorak, and exploring the ancient treasures of Gyeongju such as Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto.

We enjoyed fresh seafood at Jagalchi Market in Busan, stunning coastal landscapes and waterfalls on Jeju Island, and meaningful visits to the DMZ and Deoksugung Palace in Seoul. Hands on experiences like dressing in traditional attire, making bibimbap, kimchi, and bulgogi added even more fun to the journey. It was a well rounded fall adventure filled with beautiful scenery, rich history, and great company throughout.

We arrived in Incheon ready for Non-Stop fun!

Starting our first day at the Korean Folk Village, a living museum that recreates the lifestyle of several centuries ago.

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a fortification surrounding the center of Suwon.

Mt. Seorak National Park spans four cities and counties, and has an area of 163.6 square kilometers.

Mt. Seorak National Park has a variety of hiking trails around the park.

We toured Shinheungsa Temple.

Then took a cable car to Gwongeumseong Rock for some nice views.

Our stay at Lahan Select Gyeongju, a luxury hotel in South Korea.

Jay is a very articulate and fun 95 year old Korean war veteran traveling with his grandson. This is his first trip back to Korea since the war.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is a popular 22-meter-high waterfall on Jeju Island.

Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff

It is named for jusangjeolli, the Korean term for columnar jointing.

Many enjoyed the Non-Stop Travel bonus of a beer or a glass of wine to end the day at dinner.

Spending our last day in Jeju at Sungsan Peak Rise.

Sungsan Peak Rise is a tuff cone crater that was formed more than 5,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption under the sea.

You can view the surrounding countryside from the top.

We began our first day in Seoul with a tour of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).

Symbolizing both war and peace, the DMZ is a place where time has come to a stop.

Some dressed-up in traditional attire for a traditional wedding ceremony.

After the dress-up, we made traditional paper fans.

And finished it up with learning how to make bibimbap!

And tasting our food!

On our last day of the tour, we learned how to make kimchi and bulgogi (barbecued beef).

Certified! Now back to shopping before heading back to Honolulu!
