DokoGa TV & Non-Stop Travel: Saigo Takamori Kyushu & Kyoto Video Diary Series

Episode 1

The Non-Stop Travel group and Team Doko Ga TV head to Fukuoka, the largest city in Kyushu, southern Japan. We learn more about the history’s true “Last Samurai” Saigo Takamori and start our Kyushu journey with a visit to Kagoshima.

Episode 2

The 808 group visits the volcanic island of Sakurajima, for some Kagoshima special steak, outdoor foot onsen and then visit Meijigura shochu brewery (free samples!) and end the day with a warm, tasty bowl of dashi-chazuke!

Episode 3

Our day starts off with a visit to Saigo Takamori’s statue and continues with some of the most beautiful views I’ve experienced in Japan: Sangan-en gardens, Kirishima Shrine and Udo Shrine.

Episode 4

Throughout this series, Kyushu has so many special, serene and striking landscapes and this continued in the city of Miyazaki. Visiting the Ogre’s washboard rock formation, which was formed over 7 million years, was an amazing experience. We then made our way to Kumamoto and visited Kumamoto Castle and learned about Saigo Takamori’s siege of the castle.

Episode 5

Continuing our Kumamoto adventure, we (meaning a very small handful of us) tried Kumamoto food favorites, horse curry and uni croquette! Our adventures in Kyushu would come to an end via the Kumagawa river ride and a delicious lunch at Nabeya Honkan, which has been around since 1829, and is where Saigo Takamori’s forces visited and stayed.

Episode 6

From Kyushu to Kansai! We went from Japan’s southern to the middle, Kansai area, with a visit to Kyoto. Our historic journey learning about Saigo Takamori, Japan’s Edo and Meiji eras had the best finale visiting Kyoto city, which is well known for having over seventeen UNSESCO World Heritage Sites! We continued our education of Saigo Takamori’s satsuma warriors and other key pioneers that helped issue in Japan’s modernization, Meiji period.

2019 Alaska Glacier Bay Video Diary with Non-Stop Travel & Doko Ga TV Tour

Episode 1

Doko Ga TV hops aboard Non-Stop Travel’s Alaska Glacier Bay Tour on the Norwegian Bliss and is joined by co-host Olena Heu!

Episode 2

Team Doko Ga TV with Olena Heu get an up-close look at beautiful Mendenhall Glacier, lake and waterfalls in Juneau, Alaska, as well as try Tracy’s King Crab Shack.

Episode 3

We continue the awe-inspiring beauty of Alaska as the Non-Stop Travel 808 group head to Skagway, Alaska. Once exploration was done, Olena and I took on the GoKart Raceway on the Bliss and then enjoyed an amazing dinner at Cagney’s Steak House!

Episode 4

Team Doko Ga TV and the rest of our 808 Non-Stop Travellers got to witness the majestic ice formations as the Norwegian Bliss sailed through Glacier Bay on our way to Ketchikan, Alaska. Our trek ended with one of the best seafood meals, ever, at restaurant Ocean Blue.

Episode 5

Team Doko Ga TV spends the entire day enjoying onboard adventures like the amazing Bliss waterslides and laser tag. Olena and I discover what makes NCL’s food and restaurants so amazing while spending quality time with Executive Chef Roger Gavankar.

Southeast Asia & Japan Diamond Princess Cruise

Episode 1

Pali, Yucchi and Team Doko Ga TV along with 80+ Non-Stop Travel tour-goers landed in Tokyo for shopping and sushi for a few nights, then made our way to Yokohama to board the Diamond Princess to kick-off our Asia cruise!

Episode 2

Shizuoka city was our first stop, with the best view of Mt. Fuji while learning about Japanese traditional art, tea ceremony and then a stop for food and fun in Osaka.

Episode 3

Today’s Non-Stop Travel cruise adventure took us to Taipei where we visited the National Palace Museum, Liberty Square and Taipei’s famous night market. As we sailed off from Taiwan, we got to spend some time with Captain of the Diamond Princess, Stefano Ravera and Executive Chef Paolo Merio.

Episode 4

Team Doko Ga TV and the 808 entourage arrived in Hong Kong and spent some quality time shopping and enjoying Hong Kong dim sum. The next day, we arrived in Vietnam.

Episode 5

After finishing our exploration of Vietnam, our Non-Stop Travel Asia experience continued in beautiful Singapore.

Doko Ga TV: JapanMania Adventures - Tohoku & Hokkaido Adventure!

Episode 1

Non-Stop Travel & Team Doko Ga TV arrives in Tohoku and travel through Sendai, Ishinomaki and work our way up North ending our day at the Chusonji temple and enjoying traditional kaiseki dinner.

Episode 2

The Hawaii 808 group got to make hand made nanbu-senbei; met the Golden Maiden, Tatsuko at Lake Tazawa; did some shopping and snacking in Iwate and ended our day with the beautiful views and cruise at Lake Towada.

Episode 3

We arrive at the top point of Honshu island, Aomori, and ventured through Hirosaki Castle and park. Next, we took the bullet train to Hokkaido and explored the port town of Hakodate. There, some lucky Non-Stop Travel volunteers took on Hokkaido King Crab!

Episode 4

We get to see the great seasonal colors at Lake Shikotsu as we made our way to Sapporo city. Pali introduces a very special ramen shop and our Non-Stop Travel group gets in some last-minute savoury bites and shopping for some recommended 808 take-home goodies.

Doko Ga TV: JapanMania Adventures – 2019 Sake No Jin Premium Japan Tour

Episode 1

The Non-Stop Travel group and Team Doko Ga TV travelled arrived in Niigata and enjoyed special shabu-shabu infused with sake to start off this adventure.

Episode 2

Our 808 group got to create our own traditional kites; pick and enjoy fresh strawberries; visit historic Takarayama sake brewery and had an amazing kaiseki dinner complete with traditional music and geisha.

Episode 3

We have the ultimate sake adventure as the Non-Stop Travel group visits the “Olympics of sake” Niigata’s annual Sake No Jin festival! Kanpai!

Episode 4

We visit and learn more about Niigata’s history at the Northern Cultural Museum and have the ultimate dining experience French Teppan Seikoan, filet mignon and lobster everything! The next morning we take off for Sado Island.

Episode 5

The 808 group was completely immersed in the history and experiences of Sado Island.

DokaGa TV: Japanmania - 2019 Hokkaido Snow Festival Tour

Episode 1

Team Doko Ga TV in Hokkaido, for the 2019 Snow Festival! Pali arrived a few days early to be able to introduce a few Sapporo highlights: Sapporo Sake; the best seafood curry in town; Hokkaido Shrine; and introducing Hawaii’s own award-winning ice-carving team that represents the 808 every year at the snow festival.

Episode 2

The Non-Stop Travel group explores Lake Shikotsu’s ice celebration; took on amazing salmon “chan chan” and Hokkaido Crab; and enjoyed sweets, snacks and shopping in Otaru!

Episode 3

Pali and the 808 Hawaii Group experiences the Asahikawa Snow Festival; Sounkyo Ice Waterfall Festival and the East Hokkaido drift ice sightseeing adventure.

Episode 4

The frozen waters of Lake Akan are the site, both day and night for today’s Non-Stop Travel journey.

DokaGa TV: Japanmania - 2018 Grand Shikoku Plus Shopping Tour

Episode 1

After a night in Osaka, we sail over the whirlpool waters of Naruto Strait and then get immersed in historic traditions at the Awa Puppet theatre; learn festival dancing in Tokushima and made our own indigo dye prints.

Episode 2

Kompira Shrine’s 1368 step hike provided enlightenment and appetites which segued nicely into Non-Stop Travel udon making and eating, only to be topped by an unforgettable picturesque boat cruise in the Oboke ravine.

Episode 3

Kochi’s morning market and castle started our day and we discovered why katsuo (skipjack tuna) is best eaten in the Shikoku area. The 808 group ended the day with a serene Shimanto river cruise and succulent kaiseki dinner.

Episode 4

While in Kochi city, we learn about some of their historic hometown heroes; explore Matsuyama Castle and make our way to Ehime and spend time at one of Japan’s oldest and most famous hot springs, Dogo Onsen.
