Seasonal Sights & Shopping Delights in Hokkaido

Our 2025 Fall Grand Hokkaido Plus Shopping Tour with Tour Manager Lisa McKee was a perfect mix of scenic beauty, local flavors, and serious shopping fun. Travelers explored seasonal flower fields in Furano and Engaru, admired the stunning Blue Pond in Biei, and enjoyed millions of cosmos flowers in bloom. We tasted regional favorites at Asahikawa Ramen Village, sampled sake at Otokoyama Brewery, and picked out live crabs for a fresh kaisen don lunch in Sapporo.

The journey took us through Lake Akan’s peaceful waters, Ainu cultural villages, Noboribetsu’s dramatic Hell Valley, and relaxing onsen resorts along the way. Sweet stops at Ryugetsu and ROYCE’ Cacao and Chocolate Town kept everyone smiling, while AEON Mall, Sapporo Wholesale Market, Otaru, and even Chitose Airport offered plenty of opportunities to shop for omiyage and Hokkaido treats. It was a colorful autumn adventure filled with great food, beautiful scenery, cultural discoveries, and fun memories from start to finish.

Had a wonderful overnight rest stop at the Villa Fontaine Hotel in Haneda. The buffet dinner was very good with a private room so our group could get to know each other.

After lunch, we visited the Asahiyama Zoo and saw some of their unique displays.

The last stop of the day was the Otokoyama Sake Brewery Museum, for a tour of the facilities and sake tasting.
