ONSEN HOT SPRINGS OR PUBLIC BATHS:

Noboribetsu — Dai-Ichi Takimotokan (1 Night): Overlooking Jigokudani (“Hell Valley”), the Grand Bath features five different source springs feeding 35 baths, open 24 hours a day.

Tokachigawa — Tokachigawa Onsen Kangetsuen (1 Night): The Tokachigawa Onsen is known in Japan for its rare moor water. The ancient Tokachi River many years ago once had reeds and other plants growing wild. These plants accumulated over a long period of time to become sediment and the onsen hot spring travels through a lignite layer which makes it moor water. The “moor onsen” includes copious amounts of both plant extract and rock minerals which creates a moisturizing effect similar to a skin toner that cannot be found in other plant derived onsens. This onsen is gentle on the skin and will make your skin resilient.

Lake Akan — Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga Wings Tower (1 Night): Enjoy two large and unique outdoor onsens with stunning views of Lake Akan. Lose yourself as you soak away your physical and mental stress in the rejuvenating onsen waters

Shiretoko — Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort (1 Night): A large scale Japanese resort hotel facing the harbor with splendid views of the Sea of Okhotsk from the public bath and the open-air bath on the top floor.

Abashiri — Hokuten no Oka Abashiriko Tsuruga (1 Night): Escape to the tranquility and solitude of the outdoor onsen, surrounded in rustic charm and the Yobito Forest.

Sounkyo — Hotel Taisetsu Onsen & Canyon Resort (1 Night): Three large public baths: one with the view of the valley, one with the view from the highest position in Sounkyo, and one with a brick style atmosphere, but offering the hottest temperature water.

Asahikawa — OMO7 Asahikawa By Hoshino (1 Night): Large public bath available for hotel guests only. Usage is not restricted to those with tattoos as long as the presence of the tattoo does not cause discomfort or concern amongst the other guests.
