Darrell Chung & Arlene Oshima

Tell us a little about yourself.

Darrell: I graduated from McKinley High School in 1975. I was a High School ILH football referee for 22 years from 1987 to 2009. I also coached High School bowling at Kaimuki High from 2003 to 2013.

Arlene: Graduated from Waipahu HS. Family is my world. I also love meeting & talking to people.

What did you do for work before becoming a Tour Manager?

Darrell: I retired from Hawaiian Telcom in 2017 as an Outside Plant Manager and currently work in the pro-shop at Honolulu Country Club.

Arlene: Retired with 42 years from the Federal Government. Then worked for my doctor for another 5 years. I treasure the friendships that I have.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?

Darrell: Golf, golf and golf…..haha, oh and travel…..

Arlene: Having free time & spending it with family. Also golfing with friends.

Where is your favorite place to travel? What is your favorite thing to do there?

Darrell: Japan is my favorite place to travel and eating good food and ice cream is what I like to do.

Arlene: Japan – Enjoy the culture, food & shopping.

What do you like most about being a Tour Manager?

Darrell: Meeting new people and traveling. Also, the GREAT Christmas Party and this annual meeting that addresses our customers concerns and the comradery of all the tour managers.

Arlene: Traveling & enjoying the sites w/members, it’s so rewarding to see their happy faces & getting to know them. We are blessed when we see them again on another tour.

Is there anything else you’d like our tour members to know about you?

Darrell: Nope…….

Arlene: I will always be there for them as they have been there for me. Joy in life is each other’s company.
