Episode 1
After a night in Osaka, we sail over the whirlpool waters of Naruto Strait and then get immersed in historic traditions at the Awa Puppet theatre; learn festival dancing in Tokushima and made our own indigo dye prints.
Episode 2
Kompira Shrine’s 1368 step hike provided enlightenment and appetites which segued nicely into Non-Stop Travel udon making and eating, only to be topped by an unforgettable picturesque boat cruise in the Oboke ravine.
Episode 3
Kochi’s morning market and castle started our day and we discovered why katsuo (skipjack tuna) is best eaten in the Shikoku area. The 808 group ended the day with a serene Shimanto river cruise and succulent kaiseki dinner.
Episode 4
While in Kochi city, we learn about some of their historic hometown heroes; explore Matsuyama Castle and make our way to Ehime and spend time at one of Japan’s oldest and most famous hot springs, Dogo Onsen.
