Get to Know Amy
Tell us a little about yourself.
Aloha, I’m Amy! I’ve lived in a few different countries growing up, thanks to my father’s occupation, and found my passion for travel at an early age. I am a UH-Manoa alumni and currently live in Pearl City. I’ve been married to my husband for over four decades and we have two children.
What did you do for work before becoming a Tour Manager?
I retired from the State of Hawaii’s Early Intervention Section as a program manager, but held many roles during my career with them, including special education teacher and care coordinator, to support families with babies (birth to three) with special needs.
What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?
Besides travelling, I love crafting and the creative process of turning what I have on hand into something new. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going on nature walks and taking pictures, listening to my favorite K-pop artists, and binge-watching a good K-drama.
Where is your favorite place to travel? What is your favorite thing to do there?
Every destination around the world has its own unique history, culture, food, and vibe that I enjoy learning about. It’s hard to choose just one, but my current favorites are Japan and Korea — to eat their delicious food, visit the places I’ve researched to experience them first-hand, learn more about the history and culture, and of course, do a little shopping!
What do you like most about being a Tour Manager?
I am thrilled and grateful to be a part of the Non-Stop Travel ohana! I enjoy meeting others who share a passion for travel, exploring the world and experiencing different cultures, and creating great memories together.
Is there anything else you’d like our tour members to know about you?
On our tours together, I will do my best to ensure your experience is enjoyable and memorable!
