Anona Gabriel

Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Kaneohe, and currently reside in Mililani. I’m married and have one child. My daughter is married and has two young children. When I’m not babysitting, I enjoy traveling. My sister is a tour manager and I figured I could do that too. I began training as a tour manager back in 2017, and went out on my first tour in late 2018. I have been doing it since then.

What did you do for work before becoming a Tour Manager?

I retired from the State Judiciary in 2022 after 36 years of service. My last position was as a program specialist for Family Court.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?

Besides traveling, I enjoy doing puzzles, especially sudoku and wordless; walking, reading, watching K-dramas, and spending time with my grandkids and family.

Where is your favorite place to travel? What is your favorite thing to do there?

My favorite place to travel is Japan. I love its scenic beauty, rich history and culture, and people! Besides sightseeing, my favorite thing to do is SHOP!

What do you like most about being a Tour Manager?

In addition to traveling, I look forward to meeting new tour members and welcoming former tour members, who I now call friends. I especially enjoy sharing some of my favorite places with first-timers; their excitement and fascination reminds me of why I do this!
