2024 Summer Northern Japan Alps Featuring the Spectacular Snow Walls of Mt. Norikura with Takayama, Sado Island & Niigata Tour #1 with tour manager Brenda Fischer!
Our journey began with a fun evening of shopping at Donqi, followed by a hands-on Soba making experience in Guma prefecture. Laughter filled the air as everyone attempted to knead and cut their dough, culminating in a delicious Soba and tempura lunch. We also tried our hand at making ice cream, with Earl Ogata humorously opting for a pre-made cone instead. The day ended with a relaxing evening at Gensen Yu-No-Yado Matsunoi, complete with a delightful dinner and optional firefly viewing.
Our adventures continued with a scenic ride on the Tanigawadaki Ropeway and a cultural experience at Matsumoto Castle, where we dressed in traditional kimonos. Upon arriving at Sado Island, we enjoyed the serene surroundings of Hotel Yahatakan and a delectable Kaiseki dinner. We were treated to the thrilling Oni Daiko Performance and the historic Northern Culture Museum, where we tried mochi pounding. The Mayo-Tsukasa Sake Brewery tour was a hit, especially with its koi fish-shaped bottle. Our trip concluded with some power shopping at AON shopping center and an enchanting Kaiseki dinner, entertained by elegant Geisha. This journey through the Japan Alps was truly a blend of cultural immersion and delightful experiences.
