Dean and Annette's first group dinner on the Norwegian Encore.
2nd group dinner at The Manhattan Room, one of three main dining rooms on the ship. Guests can enjoy specially curated modern and classic dishes here.
We had our successful Mahalo Party at the Cavern Club with everyone attending! Good times on the Encore!
We docked in Ketchikan for a short stay. The Encore is docked about 7 miles out of town or 20 minutes by the free shuttles.
There is a long ramp and pier to the new terminal building put up 2 years ago. They have a customer care cart, which is a golf cart with 6 seats for those with mobility issues.
The terminal building has a large shop with waiting areas for the shuttles and the excursions. Note that you cannot walk back to the ship unless you want to do a 7 mile run.
Ketchikan, Alaska
We had big winners at ship's casino. These two won on slot machines during our voyage.
Docked in Skagway, Alaska, at the long pier. Free shuttles are provided for transport to the edge of town.
We went to the Suspension Bridge above Skagway which is actually in Canada.
We also rode on the White Pass Railway car from the bridge area back to Skagway.
TIP: Internet service is very spotty in Juneau and Skagway. It's a good idea to download your own movies and TV series to binge watch during these days on the cruise, even on the ship.
Cruising in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska. We saw the Margerie Glacier and Annette saw it calve (the breaking of ice chunks from the edge of a glacier).
We also saw the John Hopkins Glacier which is huge.
